trying to find relatives on my husbands side.his great grandfather was called Arthur Smith and came from Antrim around the turn of 20th century he moved to Ballykinlar in where he met and married a girl we think her first name was Mary (May)Dumigan from Ballykinlar.Arthur was the first man around the area to have a taxi .They had 5 children Arthur (jr).Peter,Mary,Patrick and the baby was called Thomas.They were given some land by Mays father and they built on it.the house was called Bailetera i dont know if that is spelt right.When Thomas was only 18 months old May left her husband Arthur and the other 4 children and took Thomas and went to Scotland we think.She left with a man whose surname was Connor and he was from in Ireland.We think that Tommy might have been brought up as Connor as we think that this other man was his real father. Arthur(sr) went to Scotland to look for her and stayed with his sister Catherine who married a Davy Gordon and emagraited to Australia.He returned to look after the other children.In 1917 or 1918 Arthur(sr) took the influenza and died and Mary and her grandparents brought up the other kids.We think that in the 1970s Thomas might have visited Ballykinlar.If anyone can help we would be very grateful Thank you --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
