MY GRANDFATHER SERVED IN THE ROYAL CORPS OF SIGNALS DURING WW2, AS A DISPATCH RIDER HE WAS STATIONED AT OR NEAR GERAARDBERGEN IN BELGUIM., AND SERVED IN PALERMO. PLEASE COULD ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO OBTAIN HIS SERVICE NUMBER. HIS NAME WAS SIDNEY GEORGE SMITH BORN 1911 DIED 1975

Put some details of your grandfather i.e. name etc perhaps someone may be able to help

Was he married by then?

If any children were born during his period of service, his number MAY be on the birth cert(s)
