Trying to find death details of grand fathers brot

My grandfathers brother was Joseph Smith born 1881 in East Horndon Essex in 1901 census he was livingin in Woodrage Rd West Ham working as a milk carrier for Sudworths Dairy.
I have also been informed by another site owner that he was buried in Kelmscott Cemetry Western Australia in 1881.
I believe this is probably true as there is a photograph of him in Australian Army uniform.
How did he get to Australia and where do I find his death certificate

Hi Tony,
Have you tried findmypast passenger lists. there is a Joseph Smith
who sailed in 1902 . There are also a few others that sailed in different years, but . I think you'll need a bit more info to be sure which one he is.. I have looked on the 1911 census and can't find him, but again it's difficult
to be sure . When did he die ?

Tony would that be Woodgrange Rd?There is a Woodgrange Rd in Forest Gate that came under west ham at that time? annie

Yes I've tried findmypast passenger lists and the 1911 census, but with no luck, obviously the surname doesn,t help.
Any way thanks for your interest.
I made a mistake with the date of burial it should read 14 August 1937 in Kelmscott Cemetry. Western Australia. I.ll have to take more water with it.

1911 census does give the address as 42 Woodgrange Rd West Ham.

Hi Tony.

If you are reasonably sure you have the correct date/year of death ( 1937 ) Western Australia, you can order certs on-line.

There is a death registered for a Joseph SMITH 1937 in W.A
SMITH JOSEPH... Male....City:PERTH.... Reg No:1863....Year: 1937

If you copy this lnk into your browzer you can search the Western Australia BDM's up to certain years.
