Hello,I'm trying to find relatives of a Joseph henry walton smith born around 1900. Married a gladys may webster in leicester 1919.

Yes i have, i have found the marriage but not the birth. im trying to find who his parents are and any brothers and sisters he might of had.

Buying the marriage cert will give his father's name and possibly his age, which would help to trace him on the census. Where did you get his YOB from?

A possible birth in 1902 but that would only make him 17 when he married:

Births Mar 1902 (>99%)
Smith Joseph Henry W Wolverhampton 6b 716

We are just waiting for the marrage certificate to come so we will know more about his father and when he was born. we have just guessed that figure.

Hi,just an update and if anybody could help with a bit more info?

I got joseph henry walton smith birth certificate back the other day and he was born 10th september 1897 union street ashbourne,his dad is listed as joseph henry smith and his mum is frances smith formley holmes. his dads occupation is listed as a scale maker(journeyman) but on joseph's (the son) wedding certificate he is listed as a sapper royal engineer.
i can't find them on any census. i have found the marriage of joseph and frances 1895 december ashbourne. but i can't find anything else, i know at some point they lived in leicester but i dont know what year.
would anybody be able to help?
