Hi all,
I've been trying to find the parents and siblings of my great great grandmother SELINA SMITH born abt 1853. I have plenty of info on her but just cant find a match for her family on any census's prior to her wedding.

This is all the info I have on her:
Marraige cert 1873 to Thomas Page in Guisborough, Middlesborough. Shows her aged 21 so born abt1852. Fathers name on cert is SAMUEL SMITH.

1881 census living in Kettering with husband and 6 children. One of whom is my great grandmother "SARAH ANN ELIZABETH SMITH PAGE" who was born "SARAH ANN ELIZABETH SMITH" in 1872 in Sunderland, Durham so was most probably not the child of Thomas Page? Census shows Selina born in Bilston, Staffordshire abt1853

1891 census still in Kettering birthplace now shown as "Shropshire" born about 1854. Still with family and also another child who was not on the 1881 census, Selina Page born 1874. I tracked her down on the 1881 census and she was living in Darlaston, Staffordshire (1 mile from Bilston) with her aunt and uncle and shown as adopted. By this I summise that her aunt "ELIZABETH BROWN" (married) is my Selina's sister. ELIZABETH SMITH was born Bilston abt 1855.

On the 1901 census Selina Page is still in Kettering. Birthplace shown as "Belstone, Staffordshire" born abt 1853.

As you can see I have plenty to go on, Selina born Bilston abt 1853, Father SAMUEL, sister ELIZABETH born Bilston abt 1855, should be easy but I can not track the family down. Can anyone help please?

Could this be Henry Brown and Elizabeth Smith marriage:

Marriages Sep 1880


Brown Henry Dudley 6c 99
Smith Elizabeth Dudley 6c 99

Might just be worth sending for it to find out if Elizabeth's father is also called Samuel

Found a few births for Selina too was hoping not to have to pay out too much yet! ;-)
Really thought I would have enough info here to find them, did people ever lie about there fathers name? Would there be any reason to do that?
