Hi Emma. We are looking for my Gt Grandad, John Edward West. c1874 Adderbury Oxford, married Ellen Iley 1895 Adderbury Oxford.
They have 3 girls, Alice 1897, Emily 1898 and my Gran Rose Margaret in 1900, in Burnley Lancs. She was as Cooper not West as was the family in 1901, but we do'nt know why or why they moved up to Lancs.
It was said he was in the Navy or captian on a ship, away, but we haven't found him.
Ellen died in Brackley Northampton worhouse with the girls in 1915, wife of Edward West, but no trace of him. Don't know where they were in 1911.
He is deceased on my Grans marriage certificate in 1922.
Think he was perhaps a bad one, in gaol or somewhere, Hope you can help please, Carol.
