I am trying to locate any family of William Pester Slade born in mid 1800's in Southern Ireland, Dublin/Cork area. Joined Navy as a young man, was stationed in Plymouth, married Ellen Ware in Bristol & had 7 children, Mabel, Laura (known as Gert), Margery, Florence (known as Win), Henry, Tom (killed in 1914/18 war) & Josephine (died as a baby).

Hi Susan,
William Pester Slade was born 18th June 1849 Westbury on Trym, Gloucestershire married Ellen Ware (c.1857) Shirehampton, on 30th April 1879 in the Parish Church of Holy Trinity, Clifton, Bristol. William was a Mariner. Address for both Bride & Groom: 18 Ambrose Vale.
Ellen Ware’s father was James Ware a Labourer. Witnesses: Alfred Ware & Mary Slade, William’s sister
(The marriage certificate shows his fathers name as Thomas Philip Slade, a gardener, but Thomas Philip Slade is his brother! His father was Thomas Joseph Slade who died 1868 Chideock, Dorset)

Regards...Teresa
