Son of an Anglican vicar somewhere near Barnsley, he was known as Mark, or Bobbo, had a brother who was a Canon in Calcutta, and three sisters, one of whom became a nun. A contact has photographs of the family, which are available to any interested party, rather than just be thrown away.
