Trying to find Ridgway

Ridgeway or Ridgway, Cheshire area especially Goostrey, Great Warford and Macclesfield. I have recently found out that one of my great uncles was a policeman in Macclesfield and would like to find out more. Any information on this surname appreciated.
Updated 09/09/09: I have quite alot of information about the Ridgeways but would love to hear from anyone with any stories or historical records especially from former farms, workplaces etc. TIA Janet

i am a ridgway and so far i have traced relaties to farndon in cheshire which is close to wrexham dating back to 1800
