It looks as though she was born out of the county of Berkshire according to 1841 which could make finding her a bit tricky.

Kelly,

It means not born in the County of which she was living at the time the census was taken, on the 1841 it did not state place of birth only if the person was born IN county or OUT of County. Usually the last column will ask "born in county" the entry is normally Y for yes and N for no.

Kelly,

Have you noted the marriage 1782 between John Pike and Rachel Kemish in Hurley Hampshire, Hampshire borders Berkshire. There are also nine PIKE children born to John Pike and a Rachel in Childrey

hi Ann

yes i did see that one but it would have made them very young abt 14/15 years, and yes i do have the children as well, i thought it would just be nice for her to have her own name, silly arnt i

thank you

No not silly at all, thats what genealogy is all about! I know they are quite young but I have come across others marrying of the same age. Untill around 1924 I think the legal age for girls was 12 and boys 14, so you really cant rule it out.

Kelly, are you basing year of birth from their ages on the 41 census? Remember that ages on that census were rounded down to the nearest 5 so that age 75 could be anything from 75-79 making them born 1762-1766.

Kelly

Kelly Report 10 Sep 2009 07:28

hi thank you

yes when i went on Ancestry and tapped in his name it came up his name and 1766, but if that makes him and her 79 then that could be her in the census, i just didnt want to put anything wrong on my tree,

but thank you very much
