Do you have her surname from a child's birth certificate? Where did the DOB of 1823 come from (the 1871 census makes her over a decade younger). Have you found an actual marriage? I can't!

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 6 Oct 2010 19:32

Births Dec 1862
EARLS George William Romsey 2c 63

In 1871 GW shows as born in Nursling, which is where Richard was in 1861, and is in Romsey reg dist.

In 1861, Fanny Perkis was in Newchurch, which is in Isle of Wight reg dist.

I think this is the Fanny Purkis who married in 1860, in the 1861 census:

Name: Fanny Levy
[Fanny Perkes]
Age: 20
Estimated birth year: abt 1841
Relation: Daughter
Spouse's name: James L Levy
Mother's Name: Elizabeth Perkes
Where born: South Stoneham, Hampshire, England

Civil parish: South Stoneham

Mind you ... mother in that household does resemble the one in the 1841 household:

Name: Elizabeth Perkes
Age: 60
Estimated birth year: abt 1801
Relation: Head
Gender: Female
Where born: South Stoneham, Hampshire, England

Nope -- that Fanny is with husband James Levy in South Stoneham in 1871 (transcribed as Sery by Ancestry, fortunately corrected by a user who is her grx2 grchild).

Fanny

? ;)

It's so much easier to read when you delete all the noise.

Probably, there is a surname after "Fanny", but it was in pointly brackets so this site interpreted it as html tags and deleted it from your copy. So it says:

Fanny [Purkis] ?

Yes, those are the parents in the 1841 household I posted at the beginning.
