Ladies and Gentleman
I think I may have asked this question before, but just in case I will against agian if no one minds. My Grandmother married Stanley Bertie Alma Porter in 1942, in Somerset, registered Norton Radstock. Stanley was born 1904 in Bath. Stanley was married prior to my Grandmother and i was wondering if you could help me find his first marriage, so that I can trace the children he had from that marriage.

Thank you for your help and I hope to hear from you in due course.

The marriage - if it took place in England/Wales - will be on freebmd

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

Check out the Keynsham one............the cert will have his father's details, which you can cross-refer with those on the cert of his second marriage

hi there Flick
that was very kind of you, the question that I would like to ask next when you search for children form that first marriage between porter and denyard in keynsham 1925. Would I look for the children under the mothers name or the fathers name.

Thanks for your help all the best mike

you may have to look in pay to view records for more modern births as not all have been transcribed to Free bmd yet

Also be aware of putting living persons details on here is not acceptable

Was Stokes Valerie's maiden name or had she been married before ?

Only her maiden name would appear on the index for births after 1911 not necessaily the name she had when marrying.

The marriage cert will tell you if she was a widow/divorced and her father's name.

.........then again.... not ALL births for that period have been transcribed on freebmd yet

The marriage record on Ancestry shows him only as Kenneth W

When was the birth of the man you are researching?

Flick

Flick Report 20 Feb 2012 12:18

There are possible births on Ancestry - will send by PM if you can say how you are connected, and why you think this marriage is the person you are researching

It would be unwise of me to give you birth info of living people without some valid reason

Flick

Flick Report 20 Feb 2012 22:20

When and where was he born?

I can't find any record for Kenneth W A Porter in England/Wales

Is/was he a product of one of Stanley's marriages?

Flick

Flick Report 20 Feb 2012 22:29

Please check your info - I think it's inaccurate

Dear all

I have found a child Christine K Porter, fathers name Kenneth W S Porter and Mother Peggy Long. Kenneth and Peggy married Sept 1945. If this is correct Christine K Porter born 1946 is their child. Then I found a marriage for her to John C Harris Jan, Feb, March QTR 1979, but I cant find any children for them. Just hope that I have the connection right from Kenneth onwards.

Would anyone take a look and see if Chistine and John had any children for me please.

Thanks for your help all the best Mike.
