Find Ancestors

I am trying to find information on my Gt Grandmother Martha Poole. She married William Blakeman in 1865 in Edgbaston Warwickshire. According to the marriage certificate, her father was Benjamin Poole a shoemaker, Martha's age is recorded as Full.

I have her on census's after her marriage, and that tells me she was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire circa 1837.

However, I cannot find her on any census material before her marriage, so I have nothing to confirm her father or her mother.
I would dearly love to know a little about them, and any siblings.

Any help would be grately appreciated.

I wonder where she was before then. I can't even find a Benjamin on any census. I have no idea of her mother's name either.

I have no idea if that is the correct family. If so, then Martha is actually named Mary. It's the only census record of Benjamin though, even though his occupation is different.

On the 1841 census it shows Martha and Mary aged 5... on the 1851 census Martha is missing but Mary is there showing the same birthplace.

The witnesses were Joseph Jones signed with his mark and Caroline ??? looks like Parker or something similar. The only address for both brider and groom was Edgbaston. They don't give us much to go on do they ??

Does the 1871 give an occupation for Benjamin ??

I don't know what to think, I am getting a bit confused. I have been searching for information on Martha for a few years now, and never seem to quite make it.

Not for want of trying I might add.

Ah well, I will look at all this again tomorrow when my head may be a bit clearer.
