Yeah, it seems to be more chat than requests tonight.

A real pleasure to have you back Sylvia.

Michael - I meant no posts from the Abbey split personality person and some of her remarks deleted - presumably by GR. Hope she is finally OUT OF HERE.

With a bit of luck Genes have pulled her plug.
Lord knows they've had enough complaints.
Welcome back Sylvia ... so, did the earth move for you ?

Or did you miss the quake ? !!

SylviaInCanada Report 25 Jun 2010 19:22

nah!

didn't even feel it

we were about 2000 miles away

we get enough of our own here on the coast ....................... several of the California fault lines come all the way up here, plus we have several of our very own.

We get small quakes frequently.

Sounds worrying but I suppose it's not if you are used to it.

I posted my first ever request yesterday. I expected this to be like other "help" boards I have used in the past i.e. I MAY get a reply in a month or so!

I had no idea how great the help is on here! Luckily I did check back about 1 hr later I was amazed to find 8 replies!
I had to go out last night but checked again when I got home and two ladies were still exchanging posts and had made it a personal project to find the answer!

So, if like me you are new to all this, LISTEN to these guys! They can teach you so much!
I thank you all!
Colin.
P.S. If I can "pay it on" let me know how!

Hi Colin

Thank you for that!

Yes indeed

....... "pay it on" by helping others when you feel capable of doing so!

What a pleasing post Colin. Just like I was when I first tested the water on the boards. Hearing of your appreciation is a real boost to those who do the hard work.

I cannot help in the searching myself - still find it quite confusing. I try to help by nudging this thread up to the top of the board so it is more noticeable.

What a refreshing post from Colin.
We do try to let people know that the replies procedure on TTF board is different from that of Search Trees etc.
Thanks for the feedback.

New thread posted on Tips board today because:

Hi Everyone

I don't know who keeps deleting or requesting review of this thread but please give us a break.

We have been deleted three times,we do no break the rules of Genes ,we do not swear or talk crude,we do nothing to offend,we only like to help and we are posted on Tips Boards so we are in the correct place.

Please go and do the rounds on the Chat boards and see what needs deleting there.
Sue

Ironic isn't it after what went on last week! The record of Cynthia's cyberspace birthday party lost.

Grrrrr.

Hi folks

GR is so helpful. They gave me a family trump yesterday. Matched my FG born 1871 in Kent, Ontario, Canada with FG born 1871 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent - must get in touch with this person who has the other FG to find out where he fits into my family. TIC.

Must admit I tend to instantly delete the hot matches and family trumps that come through. In the past they've proved more trouble than they're worth.
