Cynthia usually sends such people a pm if she sees anyone has not replied after 24 hours ........ it's her evening duty!

2 hours is quite a short time actually!

Anita - Only three ?
You're lucky.

Some people think the replies will go through to their inbox automatically.

You could click on their names and send a note advising them on how to return to their thread .

I relied to three posts over two hours ago and not one of the people has bothered to reply despite me finding answers for two and asking a question to help with the other. Name and shame time I think!

We just had a little sprinkling - not that you'd notice now. Seems to have evaporated.

Will do one more nudge before bedtime. My swan song you might say.

Feet up in front of TV tonight.

Parched?
Yeah I remember parched
Wimbledon fortnight.
That must have been our summer then.

Dozey

Dozey Report 30 Jul 2010 10:32

The Gas Man Cometh! - today to fit a new metre. Off to hack back greenery (or what passes for it in this parched area) hiding the cover in a front flower bed.

Good morning Irene

I've got a Fiesta here - it's sitting on the driveway:-))) Not as much fun as the Spanish fiesta. Glad you're enjoying it.

Translation please of Guajar Fondon. Haven't got the squiggle on
my keyboard!

Jeanie

Edit: No need - I googled it. See it is a place/area in Spain - so presumably where you live.

Hi Sylvia. Had a call from Scotland today. Daughter busy collecting details of her Scottish family I think to add to the tree. She's journeying home tomorrow. Long drive - do not envy her.

Will wait until she's home to tell her what I found out earlier about the nephew of the bigamist. Not quite sure whether I can put it on the thread without naming names. WHAT a family!

Up you go for the evening

Dozey

Dozey Report 29 Jul 2010 17:15

It would seem the answer was NO. What are you doing today Michael?

Dozey

Dozey Report 29 Jul 2010 10:21

Is anyone else out there?

Dozey

Dozey Report 29 Jul 2010 07:58

Eldest son of one of my friends emigrated to Canada with wife and small child. They didn't stay long. Came back with tales of child putting unprotected hand touching metal and getting hand stuck to it. That is probably what is usually in my mind. I know now it is not always like that but -43C - I just cannot imagine how cold that must be.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 29 Jul 2010 01:13

..... smoking is still allowed outside here ...... as long as you are more than 3 m from a door or opening windowto a public building or store, or a patio where people are sitting

............. and not in parks etc when the fire risk is EXTREME

and Vancouver ........... is moderate climate compared with most of the rest of the country. Average winter temperature usually around +4C, summer about +20C

Many parts of Canada for example can range from close to +40C in summer to close to -40C in winter.

The coldest I've ever been in was -43C in a small town about 10 hours drive north of Vancouver. But it was -36C in Banff some years ago ...... and +36C in Banff in August many years before that!

Stop digging Michael! Cannot do that - I know curiosity killed the cat but I just cannot help being curious. Haven't got any further this evening. Took a break and 'dropped off'.

Hi Sylvia. When I think of Canada I always think of ice, snow and cold cold cold Brrrrr! Cannot say it sounds like that at the moment.

It's no smoking in pubs etc here but it's still allowed outside.
