Oh shame. Who will we support now?

Having not seen a kick of the World Cup but I hear Brazil bit the dust yesterday. Sorry Cathy !

Dozey Report 3 Jul 2010 11:44

Just remembered about Cathy who posted some nudges on here. She had picked Brazil in the sweepstake. Are they still in? Perhaps we should be keeping our fingers crossed for a win for them if they are.

Hi Folks

Was catching up on missed sleep yesterday evening but I'm back on duty now.

Heard Murray didn't quite come up to the mark but that is what I usually expect nowadays. Seems we British just cannot achieve the sort of sports success we used to. Oh - except for the Rugby Michael - almost forgot about your recent celebration.

it was rather pathetic

No contest.
Three straight sets.
........Pathetic really

Dozey Report 2 Jul 2010 13:56

Well, cannot say I'm too bothered either way although I suppose I should support the Scottish chap - because no doubt my sis will be glued to her TV today whenever the match is on. I haven't a clue.

Well, the sun's out here ... hope it is in Wimbledon..

Come on Nadal .

Quote from the Mirror made me laugh.........

" Andy Murray's semi-final with Rafa Nadal is easy to call. One looks like a bodybuilder, the other like a body-snatcher. "

we're all gradually finding our way back there

it's always a bit strange when a thread is whooshed, and disappears from My Threads or Favourites ............. always takes some people some time to relaise there is a new one, and where it is!

Our showers have stopped, but it isn't very sunny!

Well it's absolutely bouncing here ( no, I'm not at a rave ........ I'm talking rain ) but far too hot to close windows so not much chance of any sleep.
Might as well make another brew and stick around a bit longer.

Have you rounded everybody up yet Gins ?

Thank you kindly ladies.

Jeanie you're back .
They were asking about you over on Ginny's new thread.
Think you need to clock in, they're rounding everybody up and taking a register after the move.

Hi folks

Just not your day today was it Michael - first the weather and then restaurant changing hands. As Sylvia says what a pity.

You've really got something to look forward to Sylvia. I haven't really celebrated an Anniversary for some time now. I got married on Grand National Day - unfortunately he fell at the 18th:-)))

How many miles are you going to have to travel to babysit Cynthia?

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 1 Jul 2010 21:00

Happy anniversary to you and your wife Michael.

Sylvia, book me in. I'll babysit willingly.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 1 Jul 2010 20:45

oh what a pity!

I hate it when that happens!

Daughter, OH and baby are coming here later this month, then daughter and baby will stay on for an extra 2 weeks, which means she'll be here for our anniversary and for OH's birthday. Not often that happens now.

So we're planning to go out, just the 3 of us ........ which means I have to somehow find a babysiter for tiddler

I think we'll just go back to our usual anniversary dinner place, and go there for OH's birthday as well. It's expensive, but it has been rated in the top 3 restaraunts here for the last 20 years ............. and is still under the same owner. It actually isn't that expensive for the quality that you get there ............ in everything.

It will be a major disappointment when John retires!!!

So-So !

Disappointed we had to scrap plans for day out due to the weather .... went for lunch to a place we've always liked before, only to find it's changed hands and the food wasn't as good.

Some friends are taking us out for a meal on Sunday so we'll just have to celebrate then.
