My grandpa spoke of lacemakers at Beeston Breaston? Nottingham UK His brothers went abroad during the depression, One Bob? to Australia, another Dick went to Maryland United States of America. His favourite story was that an ancestor serving as a valet to a Spaniard swam ashore to Devon during the Battle with the Spanish Armada and made his way to Birmingham where he had a liason with a serving maid. Crazy? Who knows? |
