Trying to find Thomas James Pickford's birth about 1866 ,death was January 1950 in Islington London.I think he came from the Cheshire area

Hi Rose , I only have his death cert and as he died when I was 8 yrs old I am not sure where he was born but do seem to remember Bolton & Macclesfield.
No one is alive who I can ask .His death cert says age of death abt 84 in 1950.

Rose , I believe my mother had a relationship with him ,As a young girl we lived in Finsbury Park Islington London.I always called him Pam I have a birthday card from him & mum on my 2nd b/day To our darling Mavis Rose . As mum was not married at the time I fully believe he was my father I was 9 when he died at home
10 Woodfall road Finsbury park and know he was buried at Highgate Cemetery.
As I now live in Australia I only have internet access.

My mother had a relationship with Thomas Pickford and we lived at 10 Woodfall rd Finsbury Park, Islington N5. when Thomas Died in January 1950 ,I was 10 years old. he was buried in Highgate Cemetery .All I can remember was talk of Macclesfield & Bolton I believe he had a son Harry / Harold who lived with us Harry died later that year .As mum has since died and I live in Australia I do all my research over the internet ,I am unable to trace any marriage as he was not wed to my mother or prove his birth .On his death cert it says age about 84 so I am afraid I have not much to go on .I have the 1881 census and it is the nearest I could find to his birth but no proof.Any help is much appreciated .Regards Mavis

Does his death cert give you any clue to his occupation?

Harold died at Woodfall rd sometime in 1950 ,I am not sure of his age but would say in his 50 's. Thomas was a brush maker Harold made them I can remember Thomas going up to the West End to sell them. I really don't have a lot to go on

2 things you can try.

1)Contact Highgate Cemetery and see who else is buried with Thomas James Pickford. Get the inscription too. There might be a date of birth.

2) Contact the local library in Finsbury or Islington and look at electoral rolls for 10 Woodfall Rd.

hi my grandad was from islington his name was george pickford and had a brother called james pickford his mum remarried to leanard lamb so his name changed to george lamb and relation
