I have hit a wall with Charles Pache. He married Elizabeth Yetmann, Mary Sanders and Ann Connor. He lived in Bristol "under the bank" but was not born in the county. I can't find any information like where he was born or parentage/siblings? Be grateful for any help! |

Gosh, that was a quick reply. Thanks, Ginny. Yes, that is him. I cannot seem to find any details further back than this, though. I know that he lived in Bristol and his children with Elizabeth are my ancestors. I cannot find any details of his siblings, parentage etc... Sorry if I seem vague, this is my first post. x |

Well, he's not born of that parish in 1840...suprise! |

Thanks Margaret and Ginny. I found him by tracing back my Grandfather's line. If I start 1872-1910(not my grandfather!) Frederick Louis, 1842-1918, Charles Louis 1815-1885, Charles 1781-1849. Charles had a June 1849 death date and married Elizabeth 19.7.1813. My grandfather said there was a link with the Swiss Paches and also a link with Nicolas, Mayor of Paris but this is only hearsay at present. |

How thoughtless of him not to live another couple of years to the 51 census! |

The Elex R Pache info is really interesting. Possibly a brother of Charles? I have a Henry Pache 1829 on the tree as Charles' son so that would tally perfectly with him being 22 in 1851. Elex is an unusual name. |

Ahh, the "Elex" mystery is solved. It's his widow, Elizabeth. She was the head of the household in the 1851 Census. Ahh, well. x |

Ha! Ha! Further down the line it's glass eyes that they turn their attention to! Thanks for all of your help. Perhaps a birth cert for Charles L Pache 1815 would have the birth place of his father. I can't understand why everything about his birth place is so hard to find. I wonder why it isn't on the census?! |
