Find Ancestors

Can some please help me? I Am trying to find Annie Norman born about 1884 in Upperby Carlisle Cumberland, She Married James Nicholson March 9th 1901 in Carlisle, James was born about 1881 in Carlisle. I have found her on the 1891 census, but she is listed as a boarder age 7, living with Jonathan Linney and wife Maria Linney in Carlisle Cumberland. Any information would be very much appreciated. Her M/C will give you her Dads name...this could help to find her parents

No fathers name on her marriage Certificate, i think she must be adopted.

Gordon, if you take a look at the 1901 Carlisle census at Marie Linney (66) she is listed as the Mother-in-Law of Robert NORMAN.

The Possible birth ref? Births Mar 1894 Norman Annie Carlisle 10b 467, can't the Annie Norman I am looking for she was married in March 1901. On Annie and James Nicholson's marriage certificate her age is down as being 21 so if that was the right details she would have been born abt 1880, but I can't find Annie Norman's birth in that year, of course she could have given the wrong age when she got married. Annie and James had 6 children Florence Nicholson (1900-) Joseph Nicholson (1901-1983) James Oliver Nicholson (1906-) Ella Nicholson (1910-1975) Annie Nicholson (1911-) Norman Nicholson (1914-1979).

Thanks for the information about Marie Linney on the 1901 census, I had noticed that, it made me think that Annie Norman could be Hannah M Linney’s daughter, before she was married to Robert Norman, Hannah Linney is Jonathan and Maria Linney’s Daughter. If you look at the 1891 Census Robert Norman and Hannah are living next door to Jonathan and Maria Linney, with Annie down as a boarder living with Jonathan and Maria Linney, at no 12 & 13 Muncaster Place Carlisle.

I asked this question because William is in the household before James

I had traced William back through the census and he had a brother called Robert.......................... it was ashame you never replied

Hi Julie, i am really very sorry about not getting back to you but i had my computer crash on me, so i did not get it sorted out until this morning.

Yes i have Annie on the 1901 Census she was living at 76 Trinity Buildings Carlisle with James and Daughter Florence. But I had not noticed that William Norman born in Upperby was on the 1901 Census.

Ok then i was a different James Nicholson that i had pick up on the 1901 as this one was on his own

But the William on the 1901 im pretty sure is Roberts brother
