We are trying to trace relatives of Edith Ellen Ridley who lived in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the early 1900s. She married Thomas (Tom) Nichol in 1919. However in 1924 she left him, shrouded in secrecy, with Henry Albert Redwood. They travelled around Kent, fearing discovery, had 2 children of their own, before settling in Surrey. However, we know nothing aboout Edith Ridley's life before 1924, (either before or after her marriage to Tom)as she was keen to obliterate any records of her past. We do not believe she ever returned to Newcastle, only that she married Henry Redwood shortly after Tom's death in 1942. Any information to help us solve this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
