My Gt grandfather Frank George Nayler/ Naylor was born in 1894 in Colchester. He served in WW1, but we have no medals or idea of his Regiment. The only Frank George Naylor that i can find is one in the Leics regiment, but i was in the belief that being colchester born and bred he would be in the Essex regiment. I wondered if someone could look up in the 1911 census to find him for me? Perhaps he wasn't living in Colchester when he signed up? |

I'm now wondering if i got his marriage to Matilda wrong, i can't find it myself. Frank Senior was born in Colchester in 1868, and died in Colchester, in later life he was a fireman and died putting out a fire in the town centre. If he does show in the 1911 census hopefully it will list his 2nd wife. Please note that he may be listed as Naylor or Nayler or even nailer |

Yes thankyou, there's also another Frank George Nayler in the Leics Regiment. I don't know if it's possible to be the same man. The story goes that he was a POW and the Germans amputated his leg, he certainly had a false one. |
