Take Flick's advice and go to the Search Trees box above to see if anyone else on this site has them in their tree. If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner.

Did the 7 children keep their birth surnames, or were they adopted and so given new names?
Any idea how many children from which marriage?
Thanks

UCOAG Report 25 Jan 2011 02:55

Hi patchem
I believe 5 children were from Ernie Hutchinson. Only the twins born in the 1960s
were fathered by William Nelson. I was told by a family member who has since passed on, that the 5 babies born to Winifred all died during labour

The reason she had given was that the babies were starved of oxygen during labour. The same person told me that the twins had died due to Winifred hemorhaging 2 weeks before she was due to be kept in hospital for observation to cover the last 2 week before birth.
I don't believe these stories apart from the hemorhaging part. That would be a posibility as she would have been about 45 years old.

I believe the twins were whipped away and she was lead to believe they had died. I am unsure if the story of the 5 babies sufering oxygen deprivation during birth is true. It's like a horror story, how can it happen to all 5 babies ?

I have been trying to find out through psychics on two occassions. The first time, I told the psychic that all 7 children died. This brought about a strange silence. Psychics don't ususally get stuck for words. The second time I spoke with a psychic, I asked if she could tell me where the twins were living as I wanted to contact them. She seamed to think that the twins were, one boy and one girl. She thought that the twins were seperated at birth and went seperated ways, but were not seperated by many mile, but living fairly close to each other. If all this is true then the twins could not be identical. Maybe the twins were snatched by Social Services and adopted. Is any of this possible as it is driving me crazy. The reason I need to find out is because it would help me discover the truth of who I am. It is know that Gerald Walker born 1921 did not marry or have children. With all the strange events in the family history, I feel that I may be his secret daughter.

There are no Hutchinson/Murphy births showing for Newcastle. I will pm a birth in Sunderland for a Thomas in 1951 as he is probably alive.

What is the relevance of the name Gerald Walker, which you have suddenly included?

Flick

Flick Report 25 Jan 2011 08:17

There are no live births for Hutchinson/Murphy OR Nelson/Murphy registered in Northumberland

Gerald Walker is the half brother of Winifred. I'm trying to find out if Gerald had simular missfortunes in his life as Winifred

How reliable do you think the person was who told you all these stories about Winifred?

There is no apparent evidence to back up anything he/she told you

Even if the alleged twins had been taken for adoption, it is a legal requirement that their births be registered under the names of their biological parents - or the mother, at least, if the father's identity is unknown. What grounds do you imagine Social Services would have had for 'removing' the twins?

If there were 5 pregnancies during her first marriage, and the children did not take one independent breath, they would be on the stillbirth register, which is closed to all but certain specified direct relatives.

Hi Flick
I t looks like we've come to the end of the line with this one. No one can really tell how reliable a person is when giving information.
What I do know is that I was warned off from doing the family tree when I was in my early twenties. I used to visit William and Winifred. When she was about 8 month pregnant she let me see the nursery. It was complete with everything awating the arrival of their twins. What more can I say, it's so sad.

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 26 Jan 2011 07:35

I have heard of 'pseudo pregnancies'. Do you think that could be the case here Jennifer? As she was around 45years old, I imagine there is the possibility that it could have been wishful thinking. Or, do you think there is something more sinister to this story?

I am not one for psychics and would be inclined to lay that information aside for the time being and deal with factual evidence as stated by Flick.

As you say though, it may be that you have come to the end of the line and may never know the truth now.

Hi Cynthia and the team
I personally know other strange events involving a family member, but not involving Winifred. I don't think it will help to go there! !!! It has been hard enought trying to sort out Winifred's life history.

I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who has spent time helping me in this research. Thanks and God bless you all.
