Trying to find Mullings

I am trying to find anyone who may know anything about a (jim) charles james mullings born around 1920 in Lemington spa warwickshire. He served in the paras in ww2. He spent some time in London after the war before he moved to the north east and then the midlands. His mother was called ellen (winfeild) she died when he was four, his father was called henry or charles mullings but could have used the surname PETERS he dissapeared shortly after ellens death. His father could have remarried using the name Peters or been married before Ellen with the name peters. Cannot find any records or dates regaurding grandfathers birth. Any help would be great.
