The first thing you need to do is buy William's marriage cert. which will give you his father's name and occupation, if known. |

the 1911 census is correct according to my mums info i just can't trace any further back to william morton b1875 dont know the 2 bates who were living with them but i do know they worked with my ggrandfather |

So going by info from "Catherine" , ie mother's maiden name Bates, and "Batman's daughter'" info of marriage index find, I think we can say that is their marriage, and the wife's name was Florence Bates. |

Going by the children's names (of William & his wife), which you gave, I'd say the 1911 census information given by Catherine is a good bet. |
