Hello, can anybody help me, please? I am trying to find information about my dad's father. My grandma was an unmarried mother. And because of the time she was pregnant, the father has never been spoken about, except for useless clues.
My grandma was called Lilian Braithwaite and my dad was born in Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley, Lancs in March 1940.
All we have is that the father could have been in a WW2 training camp in the area, either Whittle, Brindle or Tarleton. We were also told that he was killed at Dunkerque. And the other clue is the name. My dad is called Roland Morris(as in the surname and not Maurice) Braithwaite.
