I have a copy of their wedding certificate but unfortunately cannot read who james's father was. If any one can help James and catherine's children were john francis moran 1869, catherine moran 1870, ellen moran 1867, margaret moran 1867, sarah moran 1880 and william moran 1875. They are showing as residing in the manchester area at the time of the census. thanks if anyone can help |

Dear Angela - My 2xgt grandmother was born Catherine Moran in Ireland circa 1834. Her father was Bernard. In 1854 she was in Salford Lancs and married William Maloney. At the marriage the witnesses were John Birmingham and Margaret Conway. Will and Cath had 5 children: Thomas, Ellen, Mary Ann, James and Joseph. In 1876 Mary Ann married George Brundrett and the witnesses were Joseph Flannery and Catherine Birmingham. Can you please give me any more info on James? The Moran/Birmingham connection is interesting. |
