Jonesy: My father was a child at the time of his accident, and could remember the police turning up whilst the xmas tree was lit in the corner, Thomas had been pushing his bike uphill and was hit by a passing car, this accident took place in Catterick garrison , Thomas died from his injurys until the new yr. I know he was on his way to work he was a fireman by this time. but your right Thomas would have been 43 and died in 1959... making my father 8 at the time,I always thought he had died in darlington memorial but i guess his injurys were too intense for them and he was passed over to another hospital for cares. |
