Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me find the death record of Henrietta Meldrum m.s Fyffe born circa 1824 in Dundee. She married William Meldrum on 14th June 1842 in Dundee. I have found them on 1851 census living in Dundee with 4 children then they disappear??? Can you find what happened to them. Their son William born 1844 in Dundee married an Irish girl called Elizabeth O'Brien in 1866 in Glasgow. William and Elizabeth show up on the 1901 Irish Census living in Sligo. No trace of his siblings George, Charles,Elizabeth Ann and Charlotte all born Dundee. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated

On the 1866 marriage cert for William are his parents shown as deceased?

As I was about to do -- it's hard to search for people without things like their year of birth.

Any chance that John died and Henrietta remarried?

Charles was born after 1851? -- and where does info about him come from?

Rule out that 1861 family as they can be found in 1851

There is this death in Ireland.....nothing to say it is her but given that her son is in the same place 1901 it has to be a possiblity

Good Morning Everyone,

thank you all so much for all your wonderful help. You are all brilliant I couldn't have gotten this without you. I started to wonder if they could have went to Sligo. John and Henrietta son William married a girl from Sligo in 1866 in Scotland and it started to seem possible that his parents went with him to Ireland to live. I did find William and his wife on the Irish census but couldn't get any further. All of you found what I couldn't and I can't thank you enough. I have lots of Irish ancestors I'm trying to trace. Can any of you help me with sites I should be using. I use familysearch.org that's where i found William. Which sites did you use to find all this fantastic information?

Familysearch....also use their BETA search that's where I got the deaths from
1901 and 1911 census for Ireland are free to search and Scotland'sPeople for anything Scottish. There is also the Irish Family History Foundation site but it's expensive and I find it difficult to use

What age does it say Charles is when he died. There is a difference in his age at time of marriage to Annie McGregor and his age on 1891 Census by 10 years If he was 39 when he married in 1979 he was born 1839-1840 that's 3 to 4 years before his parent's marriage (don't think this is the case) or he is as stated on 1891 census 42 years old in that year which would make him born around 1848-1849 or possible 1850 which would tie up with 1851 Scottish census.

I am beginning to think that the "Charlotte" on the 1851 census born 1850 might be "Charles" as that could tie up birth year wise.
What do you think? Is it possible for you to send me a copy of the death certificate for him and his daughter Henrietta. I can send you 2 copies of certificates you might want me to get from SP to cover the cost. Just let me know please.

I agree with you about Charles and Charlotte.
I have seen many similar discrepancies with ages without the birth its hard to be sure what is the true age.
