Hi Linda,
Lookin on the Irish Family history foundation; http://ifhf.brsgenealogy.com/index.php

The only births I can find are John Mcguire 1831 - Tyrone and Teresa (no H) Devlin 1825.

No marriage for Theresa or Teresa in from 1847 - 1872 Dublin, all possible marriages for here were in Co Tyrone. There are 4 possible years, where both Teresa Devlin & John Mcguire both appear on the marriage index for Co Tyrone - 1853, 1865, 1871 & 1873.

Sorry, but I don't have a subscription to that site & they charge €5 to view an actual record, may be worth having a look but can you try to narrow the dates down first?

Hello Aileen
Thank you very much for your help on this.
Yes I also found the same parents so at least I know I am on the right track. It is Main Street Pollockshaws.
Feel as if I'm getting some where now. Good to know the occupation of Arthur as this could help marry up with further information
They had 2 children Joseph and Teresa born in Scotland Glasgow. Joseph was my Great grandfather Teresa moved to Canada
Thank you again
Best wishes Linda x

Theresa could have been spelt differently as my grand mother was Mary Teresa but she used her middle name

Good Morning Kath - hope you are well.

I wondered if that second marriage was in Ireland as the first child was born in Ireland.

Perhaps Linda could tell us if she has John's death certificate. My line of thinking is that if he did marry again and his wife was much younger and he had a relatively young family then his wife may have claimed poor relief on his death. From memory, I think Pollokshaws became engulfed in Glasgow around 1912 so there may be something on the Glasgow Poor Relief records at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow.

I took a look at the original 1901 census mentioned above on Scotland'sPeople and it is transcribed correctly. Just thought I would check.

I also looked for a birth for Maud McGuire, the only one around the correct date was Edinburgh but she is there on the 1901 census one. So either the spelling is wrong or she wasn't registered as McGuire
