CRIPES_A_MIGHTY Report 13 Feb 2010 17:22

Hi Guys,..
Hoping someone could help me find the parents of a George May....born c1808.... think..in Landew, Mendham, Middlesex, England.
I believe he was a very successfull gardener, and tended many a wealthy familes garden. Including possible Royals.
I also believe he may have gone to the US for a time and plied his skills there. And that he may had published books on the subject

Ok..now for info...this is all I have.

Living at Lyndhurst Street, St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England in 1841.
Living at 78 Basingstoke Road, St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England 1851.
Living at 60 Garden House Road, Swallowfield, Berkshire,England in 1861.
Living at St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England 1871.

Marriages Mar 1859 ??
May George Newbury 2c 300
Paice Sarah Newbury 2c 300

Deaths Mar 1878
MAY George 70 Bradfield 2c 217

I believe he married Harriet Stokes, 20/07/1830, in Reading.

I have been unable to find his parents...I have looked a great deal..but have never managed to find his parents or any mention of him online.

I would love to get passed him and find his parents...but I have run out of ideas.
Anyone who might be able to spread somelight on who maybe a very interesting man...I would be most appreciative.

He is my grt grt grt grandfather.

Thanks in Advance.
Paul

CRIPES_A_MIGHTY Report 13 Feb 2010 17:49

He had 17 children via 2 marriages.

Harriet Stokes & Sarah (Paice?)

Sarah remarried to a William Smith in 1879 after George died in 1878.

Mary Report 13 Feb 2010 17:51

I have to agree on this one as on 1871 census it says Mendham London but look closely at original it says Middlesex London.
The word is too short for it to say Mendham

Not sure why you are trying to stir things Aveyronnaise.

I have been around, and I know how some folks are like here...its why i don't show up here much anymore..because folks who enter threads and then try to stir things.....

If you have nothing constructive to add to to the converstaion ..then please leave..I have no time for folks who stir...

If you didnt like the tone then just dont say anything...move on.

Your the person being rude by insinuating i am being agressive, when I am being nothing of the sort
