Find Ancestors

hi, i am looking for my dad called leslie marriott, he left when i was 3 years old, i am now 31 and would love to meet him to introduce him to hs granddaughter, he has tried to contact me before but unfortunatly the message didnt get passed on to me untill it was to late. he would be about 50 years old and from the wimbledon or carlshalton area of london. i have tried looking through the family trees and through electorial role and am a bit stuck now.
can anyone help

Was he marriaed to your mother?

Do you have any idea if he's remarried or has other children we could possibly trace him through?

We need to be able to find him accurately on records to be able to search for him accurately going forwards.

i dont know if he re married or not. he married my mum in 1978 and then they split in 1981 and got divorced soon after. would love to know if i had any brothers or sisters out there too.

HI there - have you looked in Search Trees top of this page to see if there are any connections on this site - someone may have him in their tree and if they do you then have the option to contact the tree owner - worth a shot - good luck

hi, i just had a look and only 1 out of 5 have opened them. very frustrating !

they may not still have that same email address unfortunatly

have you tried facebook or friends reunted ?

yes have been sending messages on face book to lots of marriotts to see if they know him as he isnt on there himself. there are no leslie marriots on friends reunited either.
I guess i will have to be patient !

I have already looked at the ER, and there isn;t anyone who sticks out, infact there isn't anyone in the London area at all that fits that name.

I am trying to look for marriages and subsaquent children for Leslie but A*try is playing games and is down at the min.

There are leslie j marriott's on the electoral register, just not publicly in the London area. Have you tried them all?

i know he was married to a francis wildman (my mum) in 1978 in kent and we think that he has re married since then. if any one could serach forr any more info that would be great as i would love to know if he had anymore children since me !

The first order of business should be to add his name to your tree. I don't see it and neither will any relatives.

Looks like his parents ( your grandparents) are still alive and on the electoral register in Surrey.

There are 4 marriages in ancestry for a Leslie J after his marriage to your Mother in 1978. When did they divorce? None of the marriages are in Kent.

Hi Louis - there is a magazine called YOURS (it is a womans magazine) but there is a section where you can post a Where are you now message. You need to write and hopefully they will print it. I managed to find 2 lost first cousins via the mag - even about 10 months after it was printed. Someone my read it and know of your dad. Worth a try - never give up hope. Best wishes - kate
