anything i can find really the lines family seemed to be linked to the ward family via my grandfather who married a gertrude lines, i keep looking for info but seem to hit a brick wall all the time

Are thes people still living? Do you have their birth certs?

william and gert are both dead i found a doris ward but nothing else i sent off for her birth cert but it did not show fathers name although they were married at the time

Both Enest and Dora were born Birmingham and mothers maiden name was Lines so they were born before the marriage to William Ward

i have the marraige cert for them as it seems gertrude was born mobley then her mother married into the lines family and her name s cousin but im struggling to find the connection

gertrudes mother was elizabeth mobley

Well I would have thought that they had died.... I see that birth for Doris thats strange no father!!

What about Ernest and Dora? I assume no fathers names will be noted there either

Think they got confused with the relationships Gertrude Mobley is step daughter the other two children are theirs and Gertrude Lines aged 21 says boarder then cross out with d/in law wonder if she is sister?

it looked like william was having an affair with my grandmother at the time as doris was born in 1930 to william and gert but in 1929 william had a daughter with my grandmother whom he married in 1931 after divorcing gert im finding it very confusing

Right...Think I get it Doris may not be Williams child but as Gert was still married she had to use his name

thats why im finding it confusing unless thats the reason why his name was not on the cert cause he was having an affair or the marraige was over gertrude was related to my grandmother somehow and that could be the other reason his name was not on the cert

If there was a pending divorce maybe she did'nt want his name on it or maybe there is another reason??

it must have been cause of the affair as my aunt with given her mothers maiden name mobley not ward that could be the reason as william is not named on that birth cert either so im guessing winnifred and gert were cousins as gerts mother was also a mobley before marrying charles lines
