Ok peeps i need some help....!!!!!

I have been waiting for some certs, and ordered 2 certs of a child, both of the children had the same name (couldn't be exactly sure which one was mine) so ordered a sister who i know def was mine to compare.... also ordered the parents marriage cert.

I now have a huge problem !!! Both the children of the same name are mine!!! .....with no death. All certs cross reference with each other seperately but they don't all match together....

I have the following.

Marriage:

William Liggins 28, Widower, Screwmaker, Wood's Bank, John Liggins Father, Labourer.
Rosetta Ward, 23, Spinster, Darlaston, William Ward Father, Porter.

1870, Butcroft, Darlaston
Maria Liggins, Father William Liggins, Screw Forger, Mother Rosetta formerly Ward, registered by Rosetta.

1875, 59 Hill Street, Darlaston
Maria Liggins, Father William Liggins, Bolt Forger, Mother Ann formerly Ward, registered by William.

1877, 59 Hill Street, Darlaston
Harriet Liggins, Father William Liggins, Bolt Forger, Mother Rosetta Liggins, registered by William.

Can someone please give me their opinions!!

Did he secretly have sisters on the go...in the same house?

I know this is going to really frustrate me..... I just want an end to all this....and the more i order the worse it gets!

Thanks for your effort guys...xx

Jeanette

Rosetta chanfged her name on all the census's....from Rosetta, to Ann and then Henrietta and died under tha name Henrietta!!

All the census's have the same Year of Birth and same place, just her name changes slightly.

The problem i have is that i have 2 Maria's and no death, the first is ok til you add the second, then when you add on the sister it gets confusing....!!

Now if you wanted to read my other thread on Maria titled Maria Liggins, Kings Hill....you'll see why i have issues.

Maria continuously lied about her gae and her birth, then married the first guy she met, shacked up with the second (and had my partners GGrandfather) and then bigamously married her last hubby..... ironically her first hubby outlived the lot!

So now i order her birth cert and another can of wriggly things has opened....Grrr

T xx:)

WayneTracey Report 9 Aug 2008 10:16

I need to try and find Rosetta if he has shacked up with the sister?

And i need to find Both Maria's on the same census in the same area.

They were born about 100 yards apart almost 5 years apart to the day.

Families eh?

There were 2 William's born in the same year, your's must be William Thomas but I wonder what William Henry would reveal

William Henry Liggins 1873 Jul-Aug-Sep West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire

William Thomas Liggins 1873 Jan-Feb-Mar West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire

He died but the same woman can't have given birth to both or could she?

William Henry Liggins abt 1873 1873 Jul-Aug-Sep West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 9 Aug 2008 10:29

Thanks for that Claire, i'm not discounting anything.... however...I need to add...our William was from Warwickshire somewhere!!

The census have him from Burbage or Bedworth !!

His marriage cert has no middle name (altho that doesn't mean one doesn't exist)

...can you see why i want to cry?

I have a family on the other side also Staffordshire, the dad was called Thomas Thomas....and i just knew as soon as the census page opened where i was going to...and sure enough born Wales.... I thought great that reduces the options down to the last 500,000 names!

Hey Margaret,

Yeah i have that, and i don't think William is Mary A's father. Mary A was born a Ward. Illegitimate child of Rosetta.

I am now tempted to order all the other children's certs inc Mary's and see what they throw up...lol

Hey Kay

That William belongs to another family....

I have just spoken to the local history office in Staffordshire, they tell me it's quite plausable they called their children by another name other than the one baptised/registered as. So therefore they may have forgotten they registered their first child as Maria!

Plot gets thicker!!
