Hi There, I am using this message board to see if anyone else is researching the same set of Leitchs as me. My Leitchs came from Tarbert, Loch Fyne, in Argyll, Scotland. I am interested in two Leitch families in particular. The first is Duncan Leitch (born abt. 1793, died 11 Jan. 1863, Corranbuie, Tarbert, Loch Fyne)and his wife Catharine Mcfarlane( born abt. 1797, and died 7th Feb. 1895, Carnbaan, Tarbert, Loch Fyne). The second is John Leitch(born abt. 1789, poss. Kilfinan, Argyll, and died at Tarbert, Dec. 4th, 1845) and his wife Catharine Carmichael(born Feb. 8, 1803, and died at Tarbert, Dec. 12th, 1845.) Duncan and John may have been half brothers. Both men were farmers/fishermen. They arrived in Tarbert, Loch Fyne in the 1820's. They may have come from Inveraray. Both men had large families. John and his wife had 9 children.Their names were, in order of birth :- Donald b. 1829, Mary b. 1831, Catherine b. 1833, Elizabeth b. abt 1834, Malcolm b. 1834, Ann b. 1836, Catherine b. 1838, Archibald b. 1843, Jessie b. 1845? Duncan and his wife had also had 9 children, their names were, in order of birth :- Mary b. 1821, Dugald b. 1823, Ann b. 1826, Donald b. 1828, John b. 1831, Archibald b. 1833, Margaret b. 1836, Catherine b. 1839, and Duncan b. 1842. I have a lot more info on these Leitchs and am willing to share this with interested parties. Grant Muckart
