So, 1900 marriage is that of his son Elliott, so maybe the other one is his? |

No, he can't have died in 1864 as he is on the 1871 census! |

Just wondering, was Elliott his only name or did he have another one? |

I have his son's marriage cert 1874 does not say deceased his name is John Thomas born 1851 so maybe he was still alive then, also he is not in his wife's grave so maybe he moved away from the area before he died |

Hi - seen your post about my Greatgreatgrandfather Elliot. I have removed the reference on "ancestry" to his death in 1864 as he was alive for the 1871 Census. |
