Hi, thanks to those of you who responded to my last post about the 'Lattas' of Everton. I need your help again however.
I am trying to find birth and death records for David Latta who was married to Annie. He was a Mariner. What does Mariner cover? Are there any service records i can search? He disappears from the census in 1891. He was born around 1940. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

As the birth was probably in the 1840's, it may not have been registered.

Have you got the marriage cert? It will tell you his age, plus his father's name and occupation (if known)

Where was he born? Latta seems to be a mainly Scottish name

He isn't on 1871 or 1881 censuses - at sea, presumbaly

wonder if he lived as long as his son?

A Mariner is a person who goes to sea...........

Have you done anything about getting the marriage cert?

Yes i have the marriage cert. For age it says something like 'full'. I have since found out he was a Merchant Mariner. Still no wiser for birth or death.

If you have the marriage cert - can you please post ALL the details from it.

Names, addresses, occupations - fathers + occupations, ages + witnesses. - Date + place.
