Find Ancestors

Please can someone help. I am trying to find the birth of a Doris I Knight b 1924. She died in Maidstone,Kent in 1987, and married Reginald Arnull in Surrey in 1950
I am trying to establish her parentage

There is this one 1924, but hard to be certain obviously, and do bear in mind there are a few others thereabouts:

Julia, I have checked her death and birth date given as 19.12.24, so unlikely to be her. Sometimes birth years are given wrongly by informant - more likely than the birthday!
I see to that she was Doris Ivy.
Going with the above I can't see a birth reg. Dec 1924-Mar 1925 which is what you would expect.
Just to eliminate other possibilities, are you certain this was her first marriage?
Also, I would be tempted to get her marriage cert so at least you have her father's name.

Hello PollyPoppet, yes that is the correct information. Just need Flick to come back to me about the child she found in 1971. Nearly had to have an extra BP tablet yesterday, when I saw he was married.

Not necessarily - Doris would have been around 47...a bit late for a first child, unless she got caught on the 'change'

Her marriage cert will include her father's name - if known.......

If you are lucky there might also be a member of the family witnessing the marriage. I would get that cert if I were you. There might be a clue in the address too.

I will keep this on record for further work to do. Doris and Reg lived in Maidstone at least in 1986. I have asked for Electoral Roll information for the address I have for Reg in 1986, for the period from their marriage until his death in 1995. That may come up with something

That birth is probably not relevant - there's another Arnull/Knight marriage - at a later date

I don't think you're going to get too far without Doris's marriage cert.............

Brummiejan, I have applied for an Electoral register look up for the address I have for the years 1950 to 1995. So, hopefully I will have a clue when I receive it.
