Will pm you a potential marriage for Moss-Davies but it's earlier than you thought and not in Yorkshire, so probably not the one you want.

I cannot find a birth for Alice Maud Kendal in 1919.
Are you sure of the name and date?
Thanks

If Alice Maud was born in 1919, why do you think she was not married until 1950 onwards?
Did she marry twice?
Thanks

Kucinta

Kucinta Report 11 Nov 2010 22:51

Patricia A, is registered under both surnames (Kendall & Moss) at birth. Maybe parents didn't bother to marry at all?

Hi patricia , i know she wasn't married in 1945, pat her daughter was born in 1950 so thought that would be a starting point.

Hi kucinta pats parents could well not have been married but on alice's death cert she was registered as alice moss.

thank you both

You don't have to marry to change your surname - I picked a completely new surname after I divorced (my dad's forename), and that's what will appear on my death cert when the time comes.
