I have Elizabeth Jurey B 1856 c m to James Elliott Langton B 1843c of Croyland st Kirkdale Liverpool two children
He died at sea possible 1882,no details she died possible in the workhouse 1887 ? no details can any one help please with these deaths
Also Elizabeth sister Ann Jane Jurey B 1850c M Thomas Argent Carrigan possible 1870 Liverpool can any one help with further info thank you so much Bethany

....... but wondered if maybe they had gone across the river to Birkenhead, or the Wirral .... or if the marriage had for some reason been registered "across the water"

I am slowly working through it, as it is correct. I am wondering about Elizabeth daughter Caroline Langton b 1877 some one found a marriage to a William Henry Oakes widower,his 2nd m 1912 was to Caroline and she had five children but I don't know if it is my Caroline, I will have to see if I can get her marriage cert to may be prove that she is mine with a father named James Langton b 1843 or 1845 many thanks again Bethany

this was a record of the marriage allegation (previously bond) needed to obtain a licence not the actual marriage. It stated where & when the marriage was expected to take place. For Liverpool the diocese of Chester would have been the office which recorded the bond. the place named was not always the place where the marriage actually took place!!!

They married in Christchurch Kensington liverpool County of Lancaster it says,on the 29th September 1873 so I know the spelling of Jurey is right. bethany
