Hi, I've been trying to find out the maiden name of one of my ancestors but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. If anyone could help out it would be really appreciated. I'll list the information I have: |

The birth certificate of any of those children would give you the mother's maiden name. - A cert would cost around £9.50 from GRO. |

Have you tried looking on freebmd for their marriage? (IF they married) |

I can't see Priscilla on any census prior to the marriage...............a child's birth cert may be your best idea (as advised by Dea) |

This is the only 'possible' I can find in any of the census for a Priscilla who fits bit |

I was looking at her too. I think in 1851 she is transcribed as Annion and living with her relatives. Can't locate her in 1841 though. |

Well done to you Dea for finding the 1841. That was the final piece the puzzle needed. I thought i had looked at every variation of the name Annion but still hadn't hit on the right one! |
