My ancestor John Jones of Llandovery -alive 1848-had a daughter Sarah c1818-1987,who married John Rees 1823-1897 (their daughter Sarah Isabella Humphreys 1849-1894 was my greatgrandmother
John Jones had a younger daughter Margaret c1824-1915,who went into service with gentry in London and was jilted by a footman just before the wedding. She stayed in service with the gentry .becoming 'Lady housekeeper'-my grandmothers incredibly snobbish phrase-with the cortesy title of Mrs,She died in12915 at about 90/91'I cant finfd the will but my grandmother and her siblings each obtained their legacies on Nonember 4th of 1915
Does this story ring any bells with anyone?
Many thanks
Alan
