Trying to find Jones

Help!!!! As a novice to finding family members could I call on your experience to help me out? I have successfully found relatives for 3 sides of my tree but now I am very stuck and don't know how to proceed. I have details of Samuel Jones d/b 20/1/ 1867 Stoke I have traced his parents James Jones c1834 Stoke Mary Tittensor c1838 D/m 25/12/1857 at keele I have followed James and Mary through census back to 1861 living in Stoke /Newcastle areas. BUT I cannot find James Jones' father. On his marriage certificate he is given as Frank Jones and occupation a stableman. I cannot find any trace of him anywhere. It is strange as all the other family members had something to do with pottery or tile makers and they all lived around Stoke area. I have searched Ancestry and the later day saints records, I have tried all variations of the name Frank. I even thought that perhaps it should have read deceased stableman but I can't even find him in any earlier census records. Could anyone point me in the right direction or has anyone come across this family before Thanks Wendy |
