I am looking for any information about my late husband's grandfather. He was born in Llanvetherine, Monmouthshire and married Margaretta Rees in 1903. On the 1901 census they were both working on Rhoose farm, nr Penmark, Glamorganshire but I cannot find either of them or the children after that. My husband remembered seeing him when he was little - he was born in 1948 - but didn't know what had happened to him. Margaretta died in 1927 and has an inscription on a gravestone in Porthkerry churchyard where one of her daughter's is buried. Their youngest child was only 4 when Margaretta died and he seemed to think that his dad had 'gone off ' with another woman and his elder sister brought him up. I would love to know what really happened to William and where he might be buried just to lay this ghost to rest for my late husband. All the children were brought up around the Rhoose/Barry area so he could have been around there. Thanks for sparing the time to read this.
