Thanks for that info but I'd still like to know about her reputed father James Ross. He had been a shepherd and died before 1914. I would presume that he had worked in Aberdeenshire farms and probably near Skene as that is where Lucy had been born. |

Cant find her as Lucy Ann in 1901 but there is an Annie Ross 10 b Skene living in Peterculter who could be her if using her second name BUT her parents are William Ross 36 Ploughman b Kincardine and Susan A 32 b Banchory Devenick, Kincardine |

Thanks for searching but sorry no this is not her. Her mother was Jane davidson so Lucy Ann known as Lucy davidson or Lucy Ross. Her father being James Ross a shepherd . Jane and James were never married. |

Have just used a credit to look on Scotlandspeople and there is no Lucy Ann Ross recorded as born 1890/1 Skene, the closest is Annie Pressly Ross b1890 Skene who would be the one I found in 1901 |

Jane married Lewis McIntosh but left him when her children Jean and William were young. For a short time she took William with her when she left the family home. |

Thanks for doing that Gillian. Lucy Ann was the daughter of Jane Davidson and her reputed father was James Ross. Perhpas she has been registered as Davidson. Jane Davidson had been married to Lewis McIntosh and lived at Loechil Cushnie. |

This is the family. Jane Davidson married Lewis McIntosh and later divorced him. |

I.m sure I'll need the good luck. Perhaps I should just settle for having a name of Lucy's father and not be so ambitious and think I can find out more about him. |

I did have access before so would need to pay. Perhaps do pay as you go. Not sure if I would be just as well paying to view census on scotlands people. |

They are about the right age group- well taking it that they would be about the same age as Jane Davidson.[born 1862] |
