James was listed as Johns father (deceased) on John and Mary Theresa Callahans (Tess)marraige cert, although no father was named on Johns Birth cert. His mother Jane Oliver Brown (nee Fairless) was married to Frederick Maughan Brown who I assume died before Johns birth in 1923. I would like to find out more about James Arthur Brown. All I have is that he was a Municipal Labourer (highways dept) and deceased by the time John got married in 1943. Frederick and Jane came from Newcastle and South Sheilds respectively, but John was born in Rochdale Lancs |
