Morning detectives....anyone with any suggestions please....this is friends brickwall i've tried to climb but its stumped me.

Edith Evelyn Illingworth married Harold Booth on the 30th Sept 1916 in Oldham. She is shown as age 20.
It says on the cert that her father is Alfred - not showing deceased so presumably still alive. Address at time of marriage is Green Street Oldham. Can't find them in any cenus records and am completely stupmed! ?? Anyone have their thinking caps on this morning??

Just tried calling friend to confirm this but no answer, I have no info on death but will add a confirmation when I know.

Could this be her on the census please?

I think you may well be right!!!! I didn't find that at all...and whats makes me think this is right, my friends mother who is 95, has a vaugue recollection that her grandfather was born in Wombwell.....!!

Oh mine has father Albert not Alfred as you stated!!!!

Fathers occupation on cert is Miner !

Albert, Lawrence, Florrie and Edith all born Wombwell and the two youngest born Barnsley. Beatrice born Platts Common.

Mother Edith born Broomhill and father Albert born 1865 Thurgoland, Yorkshire.

Well we may have found the right family then Robert!! Albert is a coal miner Hewer so worked underground. All the children went to Public School on the census I put up.

I have a feeling either the Albert on the census was wrong or the Alfred on the cert, either way, the Edith and Wombwell fit, and given that I can't find anything that is exactly right...but I will let the well oiled cogs turn and see if anything more comes up...thanks to all so far!!

just for info on the above 1911 census on the original Edith is listed but crossed out. They appear to have put down all their children and then scrubbed out those who are not at home. Edith is listed as being 15 so that would put her age right.
