Trying to find relatives of my grandfather JOSEPH WILLIAM HUGHES born 4th March 1901 (place unknown) His father was called William Hughes but no other details available, mother unknown. Joseph married Mary Ann Phillips and they had 3 children, Joan born 27/5/1927. Raymond Joseph born 30/4/1932. Constance Mae know as Connie, (my mum) born 7/8/1935. They lived in the Lozells area of Birmingham. Mary Ann died aged 40 on the 29th January 1940 and they were brought up by their grandparents George and Margaret Phillips, Joseph died aged 62 on the 27th May 1963. Mum died in 2001 but Joan and Ray are still alive but don't know many details. Any help would be appreciated We now believe his mothers name was Mabel. According to marriage cert (2/8/1926) Joseph lived 264 Aston Brook St, Aston Manor, Birmingham. Have looked at electoral rolls and William and Mabel were at that address upto the spring edition of 1923 register. Helen Bird |
