My Great Grandfather was Thomas Hayhurst, he had two children that I know of both born in Bolton, John Robert (b.1870) & Richard (b.1873, my Grandfather). His Father was Richard, I can't find his place or year of birth (Thomas)but I'd guess about 1840, he was married to Ellen `Heskildson' (record misspelt, should have been Eskildson) in Bolton, Lancs in 1869 and he's not in the 1881 British Census but I believe that he's in the U.S. 1880 census for the State of Maine (working in a cotton mill), I believe that the age stated in this entry is wrong ( there are many errors in the LDS transcripts). I know that he returned to England at some date unknown. I'd be much obliged for any information on the above. |
