Find Ancestors

I'm trying to find the parents of Two times great grandfather Joshua Harvey and have come to a brick wall. I want to try the Parish registers, but do not know how to work out what Parishes would have been in Wilby at the time of his birth

Could this be him and do you know who he married please?

His marriage cert will at least give dads name and occupation.

It amazes me how qhickly a reply comes. Yes this is him. As you can see the parents are not mentioned, nor can iI find either of them anywhere else in that census, though there are other Harvey's . A cousin tells me that the Children appear together in other later census in different places. You must have a clearer view of the census than I was able to see at my local library. I could only make out Daughter of a ........ next to Sarah's name.
Joshua's first marriage ( discovered through a genes reunted member ) was to Rebecca Thrower, they had a daughter, Maria who was 10months on the 1841 census. I can find no details of what happened to either Rebeca or Maria. Then, widowed, he married Mary Ann Eldridge in 1860. I am descended from that second marriage.
I know that Joshua's father was James and that he was described deceased occupation a confectioner on the copy of the marriage certificate I have , of his marriage to Mary Ann.

If the father was widowed and he was underground he would not appear on the census.

Think this may be Rebecca's death the year before he married Mary A.

It is the same place as their marriage in Norfolk/Suffolk.

Now I know this is a longshot but you say Joshua's father was James and he was a confectioner. We know that Joshua's first child was Maria and I found this marriage.
